Celebrate the Dandelion! The poor unfortunate dandelion, sprouting from the grass with a happy little cheerful burst of sunshine. Petals stretched out grasping the dew and drinking in the like-minded sun. Home to the ants and aphids receiving nourishment. Even the bees visit her nector
Poor unfortunate dandelion, has no idea that nobody likes her. Adults look on her with disdain in their pristine yards while searching for ways to destroy the insolent flower-roots and all. But not the child. With delight and anticipation, the child will carefully pluck the determined weed from the green grass with chubby tiny fingers. Eager to douse the stem into a jar of water for a proud presentation to mother or an appreciative mimi.
The delight of a find to be presented with the richest of fare and the expectation of the placement of honor for the flower. The grand and proud dandelion. What a treasure! A find! Through the eyes of a child we are coaxed. To tolerate, no –to celebrate the dandelion.
