Dear Friends,
With immense joy and anticipation, I’m thrilled to introduce Sewfunn Dandelion Lessons, a sewing training ministry rooted in faith, hope and purpose.
In my years of experience within the sewing industry, I often receive inquiries about beginner sewing classes, and it’s clear that the challenges of acquiring machines, supplies, and a gathering space can be discouraging. Over the years, God has guided me through various paths, all leading back to this passion for hands-on work in service to Him.
City on a Hill in Zeeland, Michigan has graciously accepted this proposal to help establish a nonprofit program aimed at fostering hope, confidence, and skill development for those looking to improve their circumstances and heal from traumatic events in their life. After assembling a wonderful board of directors, the non profit paperwork, and signing a lease with City on A Hill, we have chosen January 2025 to be our move in date.
We are eager to welcome students in the coming months as we gather the necessary supplies, machines, and equipment to launch this initiative. The excitement draws near as the needed funds for supplies and sewing machines is now the next step. Sewing has proven to be a powerful therapeutic outlet and provides a unique avenue for peace and joy, especially in the face of trauma that affects many lives. I have made contact with various other non profits in the area who support human trafficking survivors and victims of abusive situations.
As stated in 1 Thessalonians 4:11, “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your hands.” This scripture reminds us of the importance of diligence in our daily lives and the respect it earns from others.
So, I ask you: does this resonate with you? It certainly fills me with hope. I’m reaching out to those whom I feel would share my excitement about the incredible possibilities of what God can achieve with just a few tools(machines) and a whole lot of hands-on experience. Together, we can help others realize their worth and potential. You are invited to be a part of the process.
