"Each stitch connects the past and present. Every class is a chance to build confidence, tell a story, and make something beautiful together."
Sewing has been such a meaningful part of my life for more than 40 years and I’ve been so fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects alongside many professionals and fellow sewing enthusiasts in many venues. Working and teaching in many fields including alterations for municipalities, wedding and formalwear, custom draperies, quilting, and teen classes has prepared me for opening the doors of Sewfunn Dandelion Lessons and sharing these hard earned skills with others.
Through classes in sewing machine instruction, pattern making, and hand sewing techniques and more, I have seen students unleash their creativity and build confidence. To discover the shared joy that comes from creating something from nothing is unequaled.
Sewfunn Dandelion Lessons is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating community through meaningful conversation and creative therapy. We nurture and encourage confidence and hope at every skill level for anyone ready to try. There is no smoke and mirrors here. We learn together and many cannot believe they waited so long to try.
Check us out. It won’t be the same without you.
Dandelions are humble, resilient, and surprisingly useful. They show up where you don't expect them and bring color to overlooked places. That's how I think about teaching sewing — meeting people wherever they are, with whatever they bring, and helping them grow into something beautiful.
Every class I teach is rooted in patience, humor, and the belief that anyone can learn to sew. There are no perfect students here — just people willing to show up and try.
A selection of quilts, projects and tom foolery over the years. Each with their own story of humor, joy, artistic expression and life journey.
